Things to know about Salvation...

  • Salvation is the plan that God put in place to save humanity from the penalty of their disobedience. Instead of leaving people to figure it out on their own, God sent His Son to pay the cost of our sin.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17 KJV

  • Salvation is necessary because of sin. In the garden through Adam’s disobedience, sin entered the world and has infected every person that has been born since then. Sin is not just an action, but it is a state that we are in. Psalm 51:5 AMP says that “I was brought forth in [a state of] wickedness; In sin my mother conceived me [and from my beginning I, too, was sinful].” Because of this state, sin because our default and as a result “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”.

  • EVERYONE! God does not want anyone to perish.

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:3-4

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

  • Receiving salvation is a simple process. You must repent of your sin, confess with your mouth, and believe in your heart.

“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10 KJV

It is a free gift that you can receive by grace through faith. It is not something that you have to work to earn, but something that is freely received. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

  • Right now! You can know that your sins have been forgiven and that you are saved today! If you would like to receive the gift that God has for you today, you only have to say this prayer out loud and mean it from your heart:

Lord Jesus, come into my heart. I repent of my sin and ask that you forgive me. Wash me and cleanse me. Set me free. Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God, and I thank You that You died for me. I believe You were raised from the dead and that You’re coming back again for me. Fill me with the Holy Spirit. Give me a passion for the lost, a hunger for the things of God and a holy boldness to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. I thank You that according to Your Word, I am saved; I am born again, I am forgiven and I am on my way to Heaven because I have You have entered my heart.
